A muggy South Indian evening in 2001, I journeyed to the rooftop to meet the Lord. Under the canopy of bright stars shimmering in the black sky, Holy Spirit stirred my heart to melodically declare whether the Lord uses me or places me on a shelf to wait to be used, wherever He leads as long as He’s with me, I will follow.
A sunny Sunday Pensacola afternoon in 2005, I opened the glass exit door in the foyer of Bellview A/G after morning worship. I felt the Lord direct me to reach the community of Bellview. With that, I agreed to come on staff as youth pastor. Thus began eight wonderful years of ministry to the teenagers of Bellview.
A scheduled time of prayer before youth service in July 2013, I knelt to the ground and felt the Lord tell me to leave. Back in 2001 I had declared I will follow the Lord wherever He leads. He led me to Bellview A/G to serve for eight years and now He is leading me to leave and follow Him yet again. So, after careful consideration, my wife and I began to make plans to follow the Lord.
With sorrow to leave a church and youth group I care about deeply but also excitement to see what the Lord leads us into next, I turned in my resignation. Pastor announced it to the congregation on Sunday. My final Sunday will be September 1st and my final Wednesday as youth pastor of BYG at Bellview A/G will be September 4th. As we close this chapter of our lives and follow the Lord in opening the next one, we welcome your prayers.
